1930s Crown Devon Fox Hunt Earthenware Musical Jewellery Box, Signed

An original c. 1930s Crown Devon glazed earthenware musical jewellery box, made in England by S. Fielding & Co. The decoration was transfer-printed and then coloured by hand. The domed lid features a fox hunt, the front and back show equestrian scenes, and the side panels carry atmospheric countryside landscapes, including flying birds. Delicate gilt edging completes the design.

Established around 1879, S. Fielding & Co produced earthenware and majolica at the Railway Pottery in Stoke. The works were renamed Devon Pottery in 1912, and production continued until 1982 under the Crown Devon name.

Condition

Good vintage pre-owned condition. Light age-related crazing is present, most visible on the pale interior and underside and subtle elsewhere. The wind-up musical mechanism is fully working. No chips, cracks or repairs. Please review all photographs and the video carefully for the exact condition.
